Summer Mint

I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend!

Last night my oldest 3 boys competed in their very first triathlon.  Cant I tell you how proud I was?  I knew it would be difficult, but I had no idea how difficult it would be.  I am seriously so impressed with them, and the fact that right after they finished they wanted to find another one.  They are definitely way cooler than me.
Today we are headed to are town’s Heritage Days.  I love these types of “small town” celebrations.  Our town isn’t way small and it is hooked onto lots of other towns, but sometimes it does have a small town feel and this weekend is one of those times.
I just wanted to remind everyone that the Wallis Style Blogger competition is over tomorrow, I would love your votes!!  Head over to the Wallis Fashion Facebook page and vote for me!!  Thanks!

A Few Reasons Why I have been an Absent Blogger

I have been struggling getting things on my blog lately.  Lots of times I don’t have a second to sit down, so getting a picture of what I am wearing definitely isn’t in the cards.  Sorry to all of you who already follow me on instagram and have seen most of these pictures.  I actually have two feeds, one for my style blog (creamy_style) and one for my family (emily7n).  So if you follow my family instagram feed, you may have guessed that I have severely over-scheduled our family this month.  Well, it was a joint effort between Josh and me ;)  Summer has been fun so far, but NOT relaxing…

Tonight I had the chance to go to a blogger meet up at Apricot Lane in Provo.  It was so fun to meet so many of the cute bloggers that I only know from stalking them on instagram or their blogs.  I met some seriously amazing women tonight.  You can check out their blogs here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here and here (and there were more awesome women with awesome blogs!)  Can I tell you how cute Apricot Lane is?  Such cute clothes and they were definitely reasonable prices.  I got an adorable dress to wear on the 4th of July (can’t wait!)

Don’t forget to check here to see if you won one of the Apricot Lane $25 gift cards (you lucky duck).

Our cute little town has “Heritage Days” and we went to a fun Children’s Parade and carnival one evening.

We finally went to Seven Peaks for the first time this summer.  We went a lot last summer, but this summer seems a bit more crowded…We’ll see how it goes.  The boys always love it there (note the awesome swim hair going on, especially the far right…my boys spend most days looking like this :)

My cute little three year old ran ahead of me the other day and opened my door saying “I get your door for you mommy.”  Seriously melted my heart (and then I laughed because I had to go and open his door to buckle him in).

We have done a ton of swimming.  It has been fun for me to see my boys work so hard at swimming.  Today my oldest two swam 30 laps each!  I think we are going to look into a swim team next.

We went to Lagoon last week for the first time in a long time and my kids have been talking about it non stop since.  They even went as far as to draw plans for a amusement park.  It took them hours to complete.  I found them on the internet searching “how much does it cost to build a roller coaster” (they aren’t allowed to “surf” the internet without me but I had a hard time getting upset at them because I was laughing.)  I heard them later planning to save their allowance each week to pay for it.

We got to see the United State play Honduras in a World Cup qualifying match.  It was the first time Josh and I have been in a stadium where the U.S. was playing against another country and it was awesome.  I have never hear the national anthem sung that loud.  We loved every second.  We are huge soccer fans (another thing that has been taking a lot of our summer).

My boys started golf lessons this week.  Honestly between soccer, golf, tennis, swimming, scouts, and Lego robotics, our schedule has been pretty crazy.  I am happy that a few things are ending this week, I need a break…

My cute little three year old is too young for the golf classes, but faithfully brings his clubs.  It’s so cute.
Well, that is my best excuse for why my blog has been a little empty lately, but stay tuned…its going to be good ;)

More Polka Dots

Hello my name is Emily and I am addicted to polka dots.  Like horribly.  As I write this post I have plans to buy this skirt.  Seriously someone help me!!  Or not, because I sort of enjoy my addiction :)

The funniest part about these polka dot jeans that I love, is that I have pajamas that are nearly identical, although a bit fluffier.

Changes

Today was such a special day in my family.  My youngest brother just turned 18 and is going on a mission for our church to Lyon, France.  I am so excited for him, at the same time sad I won’t see him for 2 years.

My parents are also going on a mission to Zimbabwe, Africa for our church at the beginning of August, so our family is changing rapidly in just a few months.

Josh and I are planning on going to visit them next summer, I am so excited!  Africa has been on my bucket list for a while now and it is one item that I never really thought I would get to check off.

Post 301-The Stretchy Skirt

Hi Everyone!  I hope that you had a wonderful weekend!  Today I thought I would show one of my “go-to” outfits as a mom.

Now granted, this also works for you non-moms out there;)  I love to look polished and “dressed up,” but I have to have outfits on that are functional, comfortable and easy to clean.  That is where cute stretchy skirts come in.

I wore a maxi with my sister on Saturday and she thought I looked a tad dressed up for yard saling (one of my favorite things…oh the treasures you can fun!  Love it!).  I was wearing a maxi skirt.  Little did she know I felt as if I had just exchanged my pajama pants for a pajama skirt.  They really are awesome.

ANYWAY, skirts are one of my favorite things for summer (granted they have to be stretchy and easy to wash and wear) .
